Position Summary
CellBio Scientific is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Business Development Manager to drive new business growth and expand strategic customer relationships within the life sciences market. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in scientific sales, a proven record of exceeding sales targets, and the ability to manage complex sales cycles across academic, biotech, pharmaceutical, and contract research organizations.
This role is responsible for identifying new opportunities, developing key accounts, building long-term customer relationships, and serving as a trusted advisor to clients within the assigned territory. The Senior Business Development Manager will work closely with internal teams to deliver solutions that support customer research and business objectives.
This is a remote position based in the Boston area with travel required throughout the territory and occasional travel to the company’s headquarters in Newark, California and other locations as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Achieve regional sales targets and objectives in alignment with the annual corporate sales plan.
- Identify, develop, and manage customer relationships within the assigned territory.
- Drive new business development through lead generation, prospecting, networking, cold outreach, and customer engagement.
- Manage complex sales opportunities from initial contact through contract negotiation and close.
- Prepare proposals and quotations in collaboration with operations and internal support teams.
- Conduct customer meetings, presentations, technical discussions with scientists, purchasing teams, quality personnel, and other stakeholders.
- Develop and execute strategic account plans to expand existing business and penetrate new accounts.
- Organize and participate in tradeshows, scientific conferences, seminars, workshops, and customer events.
- Maintain a high level of technical knowledge regarding CellBio Scientific’s products, services, and industry applications.
- Stay informed on industry trends, competitive activity, and relevant scientific developments within the life sciences market.
- Provide regular market intelligence and customer feedback to commercial leadership.
- Accurately document customer interactions, pipeline activity, forecasts, and opportunities within HubSpot CRM.
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams across sales, marketing, operations, and scientific support functions.
- Represent CellBio Scientific with professionalism, integrity, and strong customer focus at all times.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences, or a related field.
- 3–5+ years of successful sales experience in life sciences, biotechnology, diagnostics, laboratory products, or related industries.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas and business development goals.
- Strong consultative selling, negotiation, and account management skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with scientific and technical audiences.
- Experience managing complex sales cycles and high-value customer relationships.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel throughout the assigned territory.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced scientific degree (MS or PhD) and/or MBA.
- Experience selling research products, biospecimens, diagnostics, spatial biology, extracellular vesicle technologies, gene delivery systems, or laboratory services.
- Experience using HubSpot and NetSuite.

- This is an at-will position. Employment may be terminated by either the employee or CellBio Scientific at any time, with or without cause or notice, subject to applicable law.
