Hiring Manager: Chief Executive Officer

Position Summary

CellBio Scientific is seeking a seasoned Vice President of Operations to oversee all business units and brands, ensuring operational excellence, scalability, and quality across the enterprise. Reporting directly to the CEO, this executive will be responsible for driving cross-functional alignment, optimizing operational systems, and embedding quality as a central pillar of performance. The VP of Operations will lead a diverse portfolio spanning biospecimens, cell-based models, extracellular vesicle tools, gene delivery systems, histology services, and clinical diagnostics.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

  • Provide strategic and hands-on leadership across all business units and brands under CellBio Scientific.
  • Establish operational frameworks to ensure consistent performance, scalability, and financial discipline.
  • Lead annual operating planning, resource allocation, and performance management across sites.
  • Oversee supply chain, manufacturing, facilities, and service delivery functions to ensure operational continuity and resilience.

Quality and Compliance

  • Serve as executive sponsor of quality systems, ensuring compliance with ISO, CLIA, GLP, and other regulatory frameworks relevant to our products and services.
  • Drive a culture of quality and continuous improvement across all teams and sites.
  • Ensure audits, certifications, and regulatory inspections are prepared for and successfully executed.
  • Partner with R&D, Commercial, and Clinical teams to integrate quality into product development and service offerings.

Business Integration and Efficiency

  • Lead operational integration across subsidiaries (Acepix Biosciences, BioChain, System Biosciences), harmonizing systems, processes, and reporting.
  • Implement enterprise-wide KPIs, dashboards, and reporting structures to measure and drive accountability.
  • Identify and execute cost optimization, automation, and process improvement opportunities.
  • Drive synergies between business units to maximize operational leverage and commercial growth.

Leadership and Team Development

  • Build and mentor a high-performing operations leadership team across manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and service delivery.
  • Champion accountability, performance, and employee engagement across diverse scientific and operational teams.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration between operations, commercial, and R&D teams.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in life sciences, biotech, diagnostics, or related industries, with at least 5 years in a senior operations leadership role.
  • Demonstrated success overseeing multi-site operations and complex product portfolios.
  • Deep knowledge of quality systems, including ISO 9001/13485, GLP, GMP, and/or CLIA requirements.
  • Strong track record of operational integration in high-growth or multi-brand environments.
  • Experience building scalable systems in manufacturing, supply chain, and service operations.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and change management skills.
  • Advanced degree in life sciences, engineering, business, or related field strongly preferred, MBA or equivalent experience desirable.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary Range: $180,000 – $300,000 annually, plus performance-based incentives.
  • Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage; retirement plan; paid time off; and eligibility for executive bonus programs.
  • The posted range reflects the minimum and maximum target for this role. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, education, and business needs.
